Live in the City of Light?
Aye, 'twas a wond'rous album to be sure...
i have been lurking on this site for 3 years and this is my fist post.
i would like to thank everyone for helping me wake up.
i was baptized at 24, married at 25, ms for 18 years mentally in for 24 years but started to wake up 3 years ago doing research to give public talks, and the actions of arrogant and narcissistic brothers and sisters did not help.

my favourite "logical" progression.... we demonstrated that because meaning is non-material, linguistic expressions likewise must be non-material.
we further showed that there is no indication that matter can generate non-material meaning-bearing linguistic expressions.
my study conductor lectured me about my attitude this morning!!!!
apparently some sister complained to her that my attitude was irritating.
the sister in question is just bothered by the fact that i ignore her along with her four daughters.
If happiness and peace are your aims then going to cult indoctrination sessions twice a week and receiving personal cult training in a so called "bible study" is not the way to go about it.
I can understand someone faking reinstatement to get their family back, but otherwise not.
jw girl non-jw guy.
tenuous boyfriend-girlfriend relationship.
what is more likely to strengthen a relationship?.
Edit, nevermind.
i have a beard.
i spend a month on vacation with no worry from the congregation overseas of course.
i grew a full beard now and with glasses i finally have posted my picture on facebook og me... next to half life 2 cover showing i look like gordan freeman lol.
I grew a full short beard in my last couple of years in, I finally got to the "fuck it" stage of life and stopped caring so much what others thought of or about me. I'd always wanted a beard so grew one. As i can have a full beard in 1 week it wasnt a long drawn out process.
My beard was well liked by pretty much everyone, but the Presiding Overseer still felt he needed to have "the chat" with me abut it while out in FS. He wanted to know my reasons for having it and if it had anything to do with being rebellious. After i said Jesus and all the apostles had beards and it's a man made rule (i suggested going beyond what is written) he backed off.
I wasnt an MS at the time, and had given up any of my efforts for reappointment.
I still have the beard now, I take the clippers to it each week and return it to stubble again.
after 6 years of steady computing, my desktop froze last night, and forced to reboot.
i have been using linux for longer than that, so it was surprising to see my linux system freeze a la windows.. but then i realized my mouse cursor was not moving on the screen, and the mouse computer interface depended on a good working mouse.
alas!
Linux Mint is pretty damn good actually. http://www.linuxmint.com/
i'm running vista home premium on my dell inspiron.
dell custom build to your requirements and i went for 4gb of ram from the start (almost 2 years ago).
i know vista has been much maligned but honestly, i've had no problems with it.
VLC for media? http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.en_GB.html

The upgrade to w10 is pretty easy and painless and nothing gets lost, i put it off for months and months because i just couldnt face losing lots of passwords for sites etc, but was reassured by others that wasnt going to happen so took the plunge.
I did my laptop 1st and if that went ok i'd do the big rig, it went smooth on the laptop apart from having to manually get the synaptic trackpad drivers so i had my easy scrolling back again, so i upgraded my dual xeon beast after that, easy painless all my stuff is where i left it.
Vista was pants tbh, compared to XP it was stodgy bloatware, w7 was such an improvement.
i was perusing the internet not long ago and came upon this series of videos by a guy calling himself xendrius.
it declares that many of today's best magicians are in league with the devil.
his claims are based on his observation that the tricks would be impossible to do unless the magicians had made unholy pacts with the devil.. so what's the take of the wtbts?

I just went from Windows 7 ultimate to Windows 10 a week or so back, overall it is an improvement.
Windows 7 was their best OS no question, but 10 looks like beating it.
